Amanda Palmer makes some of my favourite music, both as part of The Dresden Dolls and solo, so when she twittered yesterday about a “ninja ukulele” gathering and signing in Aotea Square this afternoon I had to wander on over. There was a crowd of ~100 people, flummoxing the nearby festival security patrols. She played covers of Inbetween Days and Creep and the music was awesome, though I should not have stayed for the signing as I just felt like a dork. Oh well! I’m looking forward to her official concert tonight…
