Bad Egg
I got my computer back and it’s all set up again, hooray! It’s nice to be back to work :)
My poor iMac has some serious problems and has to go into the shop tomorrow to get a new hard drive.
Luckily I have a creaky old laptop which gives me web and email access, so I am receiving orders and shipping as normal!
I just wanted to let you know there won’t be any drawings posted for a little while, and next month’s update might be a few days late as I can’t work on it right now.
I also don’t have current access to any emails that came in more than 30-ish hours ago. They are safe on my backup drive, but I can’t reply until I have my main machine back and restore my data. I don’t think there was anything urgent in there, but please send again if you’re waiting for a reply from me.
P.S. Do you back up your computer? If not, please, please start doing so! If I didn’t have two backup systems I would be in so much trouble right now – fortunately, having my data safe means this is more of an annoyance than a crisis :)
I’ll have a table at Kraftbomb this Sunday!

It’s on from 11am to 2pm, at the Grey Lynn Community Centre, 510 Richmond Road.
Come along for crafts and cakes and good times :)

Science Time
Random fact: Chemistry was my favourite, and best, subject in high school. I’m still not sure why I didn’t take it at University!

Tapir Time
This is a drawing from the very early days of Nut and Bee – it’s never been available as a print, as it dates back to before I started making them, but I still really like it so I thought I’d release it again as a Sweetie :D

Monarchs and Daisies
This one was inspired by the plants and creatures appearing in our garden. I don’t understand why people spend so much effort getting daisies out of their lawn – what’s better than little flowers everywhere?!
The exchange rate has been moving unfavourably for me lately, and after doing a little shipping audit this week it turns out I’m undercharging on most orders.
The differences aren’t much, but they really add up over time, so I’m going to have to put postage up a little bit. There won’t be any change for small/lightweight orders, but larger orders will increase between 25c and $1.00 to Australia, and between 50c and $1.50 to other destinations.
I won’t make the changes until tomorrow, so you can order now and save a wee bit if you like :)
I’ve also been checking stock levels, and I’m running low on Loveblorp and Warm Whale rubber stamps. I won’t be making more of these once they’re gone, so the last ones are strictly while-stocks-last.

Vampibee
Sarah from The Small Object wrote an excellent post about being a maker.
“When you buy handmade directly from an individual, you are investing in me. And not just in me, but in my products, in my ideas and in my own well-being. When you buy something from me, you just gave me a double high five. We just connected and shook hands like mad.”
I love Sarah’s site because every piece she makes has such a clear sense of her own style. Every time you see something new you know it couldn’t have come from anyone else. If you haven’t visited The Small Object before, or recently, I would highly recommend it :)

New designs this month:
P.S. I am having some mailing list issues today (argh!) – if you’re a subscriber your copy of the email might not arrive right away, but I’ll be doing everything I can to make sure nobody misses out.
