Sugar Skull II

Sugar Skull II

I’ve given up on checking my email remotely – without my carefully crafted spam filters there are hundreds of messages a day and I’m worried I’ll accidentally delete something important, so I’m just going to catch up with it on Monday! We’re having an excellent time in Christchurch, though I miss those naughty kittens.

This is the first drawing in a series of three, I’ll be posting the other two while we’re away. I had a lot of fun with these!

Coco

Coco

My parents have a new miniature schnauzer puppy! Her name is Coco and I met her last weekend. She is soft and furry, with a round puppy belly and little legs and paws like saucers. When she does her little puppy leaps her ears flop up and down. Aw! She’s going to be a good dog :)

Holidays & Update

Mmmmm, that was a nice 3-day weekend – shipping will resume today :)

I will be out of town for a few days later this week, so there will be no shipping on Friday, and email replies might take a bit longer than usual from Thursday to Sunday.

I’m hoping to have the November update ready to go next Tuesday or Wednesday. It always feels strange to work on festive goodies this early in the year, but of course the reality of sending orders in the mail is that everything has to be done quite far in advance. I’ve come up with a few new things I hope you’ll enjoy – and there is the possibility of re-releasing some of last year’s festive designs, so do let me know if there’s something you’d like to see again!

Science Time (Again!)

Science Time

I liked the concept for the Science Time drawing I posted a little while ago, but I felt it needed a little pep, so I reworked it – not something I do often, but I’m much happier with the result now!

Diversions and Amusements, 20/10/09

01) We’re loving Rock Band Beatles at the moment, and part of what makes it so great is the artwork. (I’d like some of our friends to come over and play so I can watch without trying to drum at the same time!) Boing Boing has put together a great roundup of concept art and animations from the game.

02) I don’t know if it’s always obvious from this website, but I am a huge nerd, and therefore appreciate this Star Wars chess set made of Lego.

03) Fancy pants terrariums by Matteo Cibic.

04) Keyboard Cat papercraft from Tubbypaws – he plays when you turn the handle! I fear my glue-skills may not be up to snuff, but I bet JSR would be amused if I made it :)

05) Four-year-old Finnish rappers in the sweetest animated video clip. The walrus conductor made me squeak with joy.

06) It’s funny to read a cat’s blog. I love Maru!

07) A huge list of ideas for customising and recycling old t-shirts from Hide Your Arms. Personally I’m tempted to use some of these ideas for new t-shirts, since I don’t actually wear them but still lust after the odd design…

08) A super sweet stop motion video from Google Japan explaining how Street View works.

09) Ohhhh, huge rubber duckie!

10) These baby black-and-white ruffled lemurs look so much like our kitten Monty, with his grey face and huge eyes and tiny mouth.

October Update

Yay, the new stamps and notepads arrived! I am very happy with them.

People often ask me for more feline designs, so I hope this letterset and notepad goes down well. Also, these stamps include some of the most-requested designs from the responses to the rubber stamp competition I ran a wee while ago :D

As always, the update announcement I sent out to the mailing list has revealed lots of email addresses that no longer exist, so if you’ve changed email recently you’ll need to subscribe again with your new address or you’ll be missing out on the special offers!

And just as a heads up, there’s a few write-on label, rubber stamp and button/magnet designs which will be discontinued when current stock runs out. They’re all marked on the product pages so please check it out if there’s something you’ve had your eye on.
